Hello
I am having trouble getting a WiFi Usb dongle to work. Its a Netgear AC600. It has the RTL8811AU chip. I installed kmod-rtl8xxxu which is supposed to work with it, however it doesnt create a new radio in /etc/config/network
If I do a lsusb it displays
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 0846:9052 NetGear, Inc. A6100 AC600 DB Wireless Adapter [Realtek RTL8811AU]
What can I do?

Back up your /etc/config/wireless and try wifi config. If that doesn’t do it, try moving /etc/config/wireless aside.

No luck.
Probably this usb wifi dongle is not supported.
Thank you.
Don’t waste time with this card…
Realtek has Windows drivers, but linux drivers are a bit of a mess - kinda worked before Kernel 3.10, but there was an API and IOCTL change that broke most, if not all, RealTek 802.11ac devices - and RealTek did not release updates because of the change.
There are third-party patches to fix things, but this isn’t in mainline kernel development.
