GL-AR300M not starting U-Boot

Hi guys,

my GL-AR300M hasn’t been used for a long time.
When I now try to start it, all LEDs are flashing fast.

I connected an UART and the console shows:

U-Boot 1.1.4-g36de7573-dirty (Jun 1 2017 - 09:14:12)

DRAM: 128 MB
Nor Flash: 16 MB, sector count = 256
*** Warning *** : PCIe WLAN Module not found !!!

Yesterday there was a bit more of output, before the both lines (U-Boot…, DRAM…) started to loop forever.

Any chance to fix it?

I am not sure what is the status of your router based on this output but hopefully others with more experience can jump in and help.
Worse come to the worse, you can rewrite the memory of the router and save it but that is a last resort so please wait a bit for more experienced members to respond though don’t give up on the router as it is a great tool .

Seems it is dead.

Are you still be able to enter uboot failsafe? If not then dead.

If your router is dead then have a look at this topic where another fellow GL-AR300M user saved his router and you have there all the input needed AR300M brick and..recovery attempt - #4 by bright_plastik .

Hello @micky0867, I happened to be in a situation like yours, but the problem was caused only by me!
So I don’t know if yours is dead like forever, or not.
Surely, taking the problem from bottom up will tell you if the router is still recoverable.
If you can still connect with uart to the uboot console half of the long procedure is bypassable.
You can flash the two or three vital parts of the IC and see if it comes back to life.
