GL-AR750S-Ext dedicated band to WISP and Android phone as a tethered modem?

I have a GL-AR750S-Ext and I love it! I have 2 questions:

  1. This router has dual bands and I am wondering, in WISP operation, if there is a way to force it to dedicate the 2.4ghz band to connecting to the Wi-Fi and then dedicate the 5ghz band to the LAN?

  2. Is it possible to use an Android phone (rooted LineageOS 16) as a USB modem? How might I do this?

Thanks!

@fluid

1 . WISP connect to a 2.4Ghz source wifi then turn off the 2.4 LAN WiFi. Just make sure all your devices support 5Ghz :blush:

  1. Plug mobile into router. Select Settings → Network and Internet → Hotspot & tethering → USB tethering and turn on ( this is for Android Pie) and hopefully the router will recognise and you’re done :slight_smile:

Yeah! The router support repeater and tethering mode.

Thanks everyone, this is perfect!
