GL-AR750S wifi issues

I just got this off of Amazon, but I can’t get this thing to keep a connection to wifi on repeater mode. I’ve tried 2.4 and 5Ghz (5Ghz seems a little more stable, but not much). I can’t get more than about 20-40 minutes of connection time before it just dies.

Sometimes it’ll fix itself, other times I have to login and connect to the host network manually (it is saved though). I saw another thread about using the Travelmate package, but I couldn’t get that to work at all. It wouldn’t even connect to the host network.

I am on the newest firmware. Is it just not stable for repeater mode yet or something?

You can try to slow down the wifi connection rate to improve the stability of the connection.

Client side or host side? I can’t control the host in this case.

Client side.

You can change wifi settings in AR750s. These settings will be applied in both its AP and repeater.

It is the bandwidth settings in both 2.4G and 5G wifi.

What should I change it to? 20 MHz on 5G?

Well I switch it to 20MHz, but as soon as I join the host wifi, it switches back to 20/40/80?

update: I was able to switch it to 20MHz in luci, and it does seem to be more stable.
