GL-AX1800 heats up and scaling_governor

I have a GL-AX1800 and I noticed it was heating up a lot.

Looking in the "scaling_governor" setting, I saw that it was set to "performance" :

root@GL-AX1800:~# cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/policy0/scaling_governor
performance

Is it possible to set this parameter to "ondemand" to limit overheating of the GL-AX1800 ?

If yes, how to proceed?

If not, is there another way to limit this overheating?

What do you mean by "a lot"?

My network equipment does not exceed 30°.
The AX1800 heats to 36°.
My TP-Link Archer C6 is at 29°.
29° is lukewarm, 36° is hot.

I disagree, 36 is barely warm, nothing to be concerned about.

And by the way, is the calibration on your IR thermometer 19 years overdue?

The surface of the router is 36, still very common in this hardware, probably GL CPU is higher performance, to say compare that one you mentioned.

My routers and modems are usually ~40-50 °C - so all good.
