GL-AX1800 Tethering

I’m attempting to tether an Inseego MiFi device to my GL-AX1800 router.

It’s plugged in to the USB port on the router, but the Admin Panel doesn’t recognize it.

Checking the Interfaces in Luci, there is no USB interface shown.

How would I add the USB interface?

Looking at the list of available ports, nothing jumps out to indicate the USB port.

Can you post the system and kernel log? It generally shows if the modem is recognized or not.

I need both system log and kernel log.

The kernel logs shows too much about repeater, not USB.

Can you do this:

Plug in the USB of the MiFi tothe router, then immedatelly get the log
Use logread and dmesg to get both the system and kernel log.

Use “logread -f” so the log come up event by event.

I have the same hotspot and same issue. The Inseego works fine on an Opal but won’t work on a Flint.

How about try the 4.x firmware GL.iNet download center

The old post you referred indicate it is a problem of old openwrt version. If this is the case, firmware 4.x should be fine.

Can you help to check?

It was a good idea, but same behavior with the 4.0.0r2 firmware. Slightly different log messages.

From the feedback in this and the thread you cited, it may be related to USB3.0.

Do you have any of our router with USB2.0 and test?

Also can you let me know the exact model of you Inseego?

Yes, the Opal works fine with the same setup.

The Inseego is an M2000.
