Just wondering if anyone knows the full spec on the USB 3.0 port? Speicifically the power output. I'm wondering could I power a <1A switch from it.

No, not really. I think the only issue is, English is not the first language for either of you!
Trust me, Bruce means that the USB port can supply around 1A.
