Hi all…. seasons greetings!
I have a GL-BE9300 router using the Beta firmware (4.8.99). There router is ok, but i am having lots of issues with Wi-Fi clients disconnecting and some clients being connected but the internet not working. Also, many clients in the list are coming up as unknown which is odd and was not occurring with my old router.
Has anyone tried the Snapshot firmware?
Matt
Hi,
Regarding Clients showing as “Unknown”:
Please check whether the device has a randomized/private MAC address enabled. When this feature is active, some operating systems may omit the hostname in DHCP requests, which can cause the router to list the client as “Unknown.”
You can also label devices by manually editing their names:
Regarding Wi-Fi clients disconnecting:
To help us investigate, please provide:
- Wi-Fi Clients' device model and OS version
- Connected Wi-Fi band (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, 6 GHz, or MLO)
- Whether the device reconnects automatically after disconnecting
- Router logs exported after the issue occurs, sent via private message. If possible, note the exact or approximate time of the disconnection.
Regarding Clients connected but unable to access the internet:
Please also confirm:
- Wi-Fi Clients' device model and OS version
- Connected Wi-Fi band
Then run the following diagnostics and share the output:
# Windows (Command Prompt)
nslookup google.com
tracert 8.8.8.8
# macOS / Linux
nslookup google.com
traceroute 8.8.8.8
These details will help us determine whether the issue is related to DNS resolution, routing, or connectivity.
