First timer here so hello.

I have bought the above mobile router to use in our caravan in Europe.

I also have on order a MIMO-4-17-V2.antenna.

Do I need to activate the inbuilt VPN (and how to do it ) with the GL XE 3000 to make it work in Europe.

I think I remember seeing that I would need to do this before it would operate in Europe.

Hi,

No, you don't need a VPN in Europe. At least not in countries that are part of the European Union.
But you should make sure to have a mobile contract that includes Europe (or a local SIM)

I will be getting an EE unlimited data sim for our two months holiday in Europe.

I have the modem working here in the UK very well so would I just set it up on the continent just the same way as here at home ?

I can't answer this question, never went to UK with the device.

Maybe I am not have understood your questions, sorry.
May I confirm are you asking whether you would like to run VPN client on the XE3000 and connect to your home VPN server so that you can access the Internet from anywhere in Europe as if you were at home?

If yes, you can first configure the VPN server at home, export the profile, and upload it to the XE3000.

The router will work in Europe exactly as it will in the UK
Of course, you won’t get any internet unless your unlimited SIM has an EU roaming allowance.
