GL-iNet Flint 3 (GL-BE9300) VPN?

Hi guys i have just bought a new GL-iNet Flint 3 (GL-BE9300) not plugged it in yet ..no time LOL. i am not so hot at this so would welcome some advice on VPN’s which would you recommend? but it needs to keep good speeds .i once tried Nord on my old router and it was terrible it destoyed the speed down maybe 60%…

So i cannot have that again..

any ideas please..

thanks

Hi,

Regarding the speeds achievable with third-party VPN providers, we believe they primarily depend on the quality of the interconnection between the provider and your home ISP, as well as how congested their servers are.

We recommend the following:

  1. Prioritize WireGuard: Look for providers that support the WireGuard protocol. It has significantly lower overhead than OpenVPN, allowing for much higher throughput.

  2. Choose Nearby Servers: Connect to a VPN server in a geographically close location rather than one far away. Long physical distances and complex routing across multiple ISPs often lead to suboptimal speeds.

  3. Test Thoroughly: Make full use of the trial period to run speed tests at different times of the day to ensure the performance meets your requirements.

Are you referring to the WireGuard configuration tutorial?

Don't worry about those

  • first, you only need to configure a single provider to start using the VPN function.
  • Once configured, it can be easily enabled or disabled.
  • For providers with built-in support, you can also quickly switch between servers in different regions.

If you encounter any issues during the configuration process, feel free to contact us for assistance at any time.

As for VPN provider recommendations, we will leave that to the other helpful members of the forum, as we are not entirely sure about their availability in your specific region.
