GL.inet GL-MV1000 - failover seems to be not working

Hi,

Have a GL.inet GL-MV1000 (non-WIFI) and testing some WAN failover scenarios.

Have fiber/PPPoE primary ethernet uplink with Netgear Nighthawk M1 in USB tether mode for backup. Seems if I disconnect the primary ethernet link, it doesn’t failover to the tethered uplink.

From my research, the tether link should be a secondary by never seems to kick in upon primary failure.

EDIT: I should add, I have installed mwan3 modules suggested in other posts, but default config doesn’t seem help.

Am I doing something wrong?

mwan3 is already installed. So pls don’t install again.

You have PPPoE and USB tethering connections.

Pls make sure you can use ping in your pppoe network. Otherwise the router will think this connection is not active and always use USB tethering.
