GL.inet MT6000 - Vodafone Germany (via Deutsche Telekom)

Hello everyone,

I’m trying to get my fiber-optic connection (Vodafone on the Deutsche Telekom network) up and running. I’ve made a little progress, but unfortunately the connection still isn’t working. Does anyone have the Flint 2 router set up with a Vodafone (via Deutsche Telekom) connection and can help me out?

What I’ve already figured out and done:

  1. I’ve been using the Flint 2 with the current original firmware and have installed Luci.

  2. I’d like to avoid switching to OpenWRT because the interface can be a bit intimidating for a newbie. If this is necessary to solve the problem, I’ll do it, of course.

  3. VLAN ID 7 is set (see screenshot).

  4. I no longer use the full username “vodafone-ftth.komplett/...” but only the trailing part “vbxxxxxxxxxx” (see screenshot).

  5. Since then, the router establishes a connection and receives an IP address, but Internet access is not possible (see screenshot).

  6. I found a note somewhere stating that the “DS-Lite” plugin must be installed. I did this, but it didn’t change anything.

I would be very grateful for any help with this problem!

Best regards

I would recommend calling them and asking them if they need to do something on their side. Sometimes they need to register a MAC address or something like that.

I guess they sent you all the PPPoE information - are they the same as what you entered?
VLAN 7 is mostly for VDSL, not Fiber connections.

I have Vodafone Fibre 910 in the UK not Germany, but just for info, there is no VLAN Id needed here, just the full username and password provided by them for using your own router.

ah, you need a special plugin for this.

See:

It is one of those transition protocols to speak ipv6 when you network is ipv4 or vice versa since ipv4 to ipv6 or opposite cannot communicate to each other.
