GL-iNet router used to sync OneDrive (rsync) to SD card - would that work?

Hello Colleagues,

I must say i just recently discovered this product(s) but seems like a something that would cover my needs.

On top of the vpn, ad blocking/pi-hole, I would like to have a OneDrive backup to SD. I learned about the rsync, which seems as a good solution, but i have two questions:

  • will any of the routers work well in this scenario, i.e., sync/download OneDrive to SD card?
  • does it work?

thank you!

rsync won't help here, you might need to have a look into rclone instead.

Will it work? Maybe. It depends on the router and the power needed. Worth a try.

good start from my end - yes, rclone is what i had on my mind before making this faux pas.

thank you!

rclone (specially with onedrive) needs CPU and RAM (a lot). rclone will run but horribly slow.

I use OneDrive with rclone on my PC and I have dropped it because it was very slow. I don't know how could it perform on a router, but it should work.

thank you all!

performance was my concern - and it seems to be a justified one!
