Tried it, but 192.168.1.1 is not accessible over LAN and/or WIFI
I’m afraid that serial-port is the only option.

I’ve got the tools to do this job, but need to find them 1st, and… I need the correct firmware!

Okay… I managed to get a telnet connection by holding the power & reset button for some time after powering up again!

Did a “reset” or something called like that with telnet.

Fingers crossed… rebooting now.

Update… Rebooted again and got the uboot WebUI.
Flashed openwrt-mifi-20160120.bin, and am now back up again!

So… All okay for now

Not yet I’m sorry to say. Also had to drop it for a while because of time constraints.

As mentioned before I am still stuck at the PPP negotiation phase.

I will try to find some time over the weekend to dig deeper and also document the QMI option which could work for us as an alternative. It uses the kmod-usb-net-qmi-wwan kernel module which takes care of setting up the connection eleminating the use of the fiddly PPP dial scripts.

I’ve got everything setup nicely (3D printed a nice cover. Build a nice cloverleaf wifi antenna).
All I need now is to get the MiFi to work and I’m done with the proto-type.

If this is not going to work, than I will move back to the 150 with USB 3G stick.

@Guest, I have just read this long post again to understand the problem.

I don’t know how you tried. But let’s do this once again using same configuration.

First, use ttyUSB2 to send command and use ttyUSB3 for network "option device ‘/dev/ttyUSB3’, I bet your apn setting is correct.

Second, unplug power, then plug power again. If you tried to connect before, a software reboot may not correct the problem.

Third, after the system boot, let’s check network and try AT command. You can just try “comgt” simply to check if you have any luck. Then you can try the AT command one by one from the quick guide to get the output. Next pls post your log.

Please note that the NANO sim is working fine in another phone, and USB 3G stick.
The NANO sim is also an original one (ie: not trimmed)

1st tested: /dev/tty/USB2, and rebooted

For your information: I’ve ordered a new MiFi Engineering Board (without the modem)
I hope that the SIM card holder is okay on this new one :-/

@Guest, from what I understand this should not be the problem of SIM connection.

I have tried two SIM cards here, one 3G and one 4G and I tried both EC20 and UC20.

The 3G SIM card works good with EC20 and UC20.

But the 4G SIM card only works with EC20 (or UC20) in openwrt 1407 in umts mode.

I haven’t sort of the problem but this should be a driver problem. I will buy more SIM card and try. Next week engineers will come back from New Year holiday and hopefully I will get more docs.

Yahoooooo…

Received the new MiFI today, and installed the “old” radio on it.
Update the MiFi with: openwrt-mifi-20160120.bin, added the needed data for my 3G provider and set it to use COM3

Guess what…

And yes.... Internet is also working over 3G :-)

I guess that the 1st MiFi I received did have a problem with the SIM card reader.

I’ve had that firmware on my other MiFi from day 1, but never got it to work… We know why now :-/

By the way… This webcam ( 404 Page not found - GL.iNet ) does also work great on the MiFi

shame there are no mounting holes for the board though (only the pcie slot)

You can extend the 2 screws from the radio to hold it in a box.

I’ve printed (3d) a small box for mine to fit inside a dome, and am using extended screws to hold it in place.

PS: I don’t mind having a look at your modified quick start guide.

i cant say ive really changed that much,

added section on AT & dataports for various modems
added default wifi password
corrected some spelling/grammar mistakes (and probably added a few too)

I hope the guys at GLI dont have an issue with me posting this
