GL-MIFI modem not found

I just bought a GL-MIFI and connected a SIM card for testing, the connection was successful, but a minute later the 3G/4G Led turned off, when I check the admin Panel it says “No Modem device found. Plug in your USB modem to start.” tried to restart the MIFI several times and stays the same.
Few days later at random times on start the modem does the same thing it goes back.

could this be a hardware problem? should I ask for a replacement?

Thanks

Which versoin of fireware are you used? I met this problem at the version 3.0.0. You can update to the lastest version to test.

I am using the 3.008, just update to 3.009 same thing.
also reverted to 2,271. Still modem not connected…

The modem should always be connected. Otherwise there is a problem of the modem. This is not in software I think.

Log into MIFI and check “dmesg”. Any messages regarding USB-modem disconnects/connects
?

I was not sure how to use the “dmesg”… started the ssh and run “dmesg” and this is what returned…

Seems the modem is missing.

Can you contact customer service and get exchange?

Could also be a contact problem of the modem card. May be, to remove/insert modem first, before exchanging the device. Rather easy to open the MIFI.
