GL-MT1300 does not see iPhone hotspot network

I’m in the process of setting up my Beryl (GL-MT1300) for the first time and I’ve found that it does not see my iPhone’s wireless hotspot network. I have an iPhone 12 mini with the latest version of iOS.

I’ve tried the following:

  • Restarted my iPhone
  • Enabled “Maximize Compatibility” in my hotspot’s settings
  • Restarted my Beryl

Note that I can connect to other WiFi networks, such as my home network – just not my iPhone’s hotspot. Furthermore, I can connect to my hotspot with other devices, just not my Beryl. I don’t want to connect via USB if I can avoid it.

Please advise.

You need to change the country code on GL-MT1300.

If you enabled “Maximize Compatibility” it should work.

So long as you’re not using the iPhone to get the router to connect to the iPhone hot-spot there shouldn’t be an issue. Using the same device may cause unexpected issues.

There’s a known issue with the iPhone 12 mini hot-spot. You have to reset the network settings on the phone. Just the network settings, not the entire phone. It may erase your carrier settings so be prepared to program them in again.
