Hi,
I'm having some issues while trying to connect to a WiFi network while in Repeater mode.
The device complains about a wrong password even though I'm sure it is correct.
- other devices can connect to the network
- sometimes it connects successfully
- I tried disabling every type of MAC cloning/generation, using the factory one
- I tried with 4.7.4, 4.8.1 and 4.8.2 beta firmwares
- Attached the logs of my last attempt with 4.8.2 beta firmware
I found online some people with the same issue but it seems they've succeeded using the last firmware available at the time.
As suggested from someone on your forum I tried to change the Country code from German (default) to mine, Italy. No success
I use the device mainly to connect to this exact WiFi to extend its range.
I found several users complaining for the same issue
Hello. I recently bought and configured a GL-MT300N-V2 and I’m unable to connect to wi-fi most of the time. The router simply rejects the wi-fi password and give an error of “Incorrect password” and then prompts me for the password (which doesn’t work). After unplugging the router from power and repowering it (usually multiple times) it eventually allows me to connect. But then if I test it again, the problem returns. This is a huge problem for a travel router! I’ve tried resetting the set…
Hi there, hoping you all can help me. I just got a new Beryl AX (gl-mt3000) but having some problems when connecting in repeater mode. It will not connect to my home router and is giving various error messages, most often:
Connection failed, will retry later…
Incorrect password.
While attempting to reconnect, your router will periodically scan for Wi-Fi networks, and your guest Wi-Fi network will be temporarily unavailable during this scan.
However, I am certainly entering the correct pass…
Only suggestion that worked is to downgrade to 4.5.16 firmware

Sorry, the first link talks about a different issue. I misread that after a first reading
Hi
Based on the logs, the issue appears to be related to WPA3 SAE encryption , which is causing the authentication to fail and be recognized as an incorrect password.
Please try the following steps:
Re-enter the Wi-Fi password and ensure it is correct.
If possible, change the main router’s encryption method to WPA2-PSK only and check if the connection succeeds.
If you cannot modify the main router’s settings, please:
a. SSH into the router and run the following command to temporarily disable the repeater function:
/etc/init.d/repeater stop
b. In Luci , go to Network > Wireless , click Scan next to the Wi-Fi band (2.4GHz or 5GHz), select your SSID, and click Join Network .
c. Enter the password, then under Wireless Security , change Encryption to WPA2-PSK , Click the Save.
d. Click the Save & Apply. And wait a while for Wi-Fi to connect, and see whether it can connect or not.

Hi,
I'll update you soon once I tried these steps
Unfortunately I don't have access to the accessed router, I'll follow the other steps you suggested
