GL-MT3000 tethering not working?

Hi,

I use an iPhone 13 for tethering and I've just found the following:
The router only charges my iPhone if nothing is connected to the LAN and WAN ports
Whether or not anything is connected to the ethernet ports, my iPhone does not detect the device as being capable of tethering.

This issue started after I had connected a device to the WAN port (where the WAN port was turned into a LAN port).

What can I do?

EDIT: My iPhone sees the router as tethering-capable now, although this only works if nothing is connected to the ethernet ports

EDIT 2: My iPhone seems to happily tether to the router even with the ethernet cable but will the router still complains that it has no internet connection, and rejects the tether connection Never mind! It seems to be rather temperamental.

Probably the failover's interface priority is WAN first. The WAN will be used if there is a network, you can try to put tethering first.

Probably a IP cannot be pinged or drop some packages from the iPhone or this ISP, you can change and reserve the IP which can be available to ping.

Unfortunately this issue happens even if nothing is connected to WAN, and the interface says that nothing is connected to tethering even though there is.

Intersting. The WAN and tethering should not have anything related.

Agreed, I don't entirely understand why LAN has any relevance to tethering.
