GL-MT3000 v4.5.0 cannot find any WiFi

The only thing that worked is:

Thanks Meo. I can see the country option in MTK Wifi. I found a hack to solve this. In Repeater > Repeater Options, I set the Mt-3000 to use the 2,4 GHz instead of the AUTO option and it was able to find the WiFi networks in range. I also updated firmware because once this issue was resolved, I was not getting an ip from dhcp.

Now running 4.6 with open source drivers and suddenly all works well
