This may be a dumb question, but I have never messed with media servers, so bear with me.
I a GL-MT300A which I would like to use to stream music and maybe videos to other devices (phone, tablet, smart tv). I currently have a USB drive attached, but may use a microSD in the future. Samba was easy to get running, and the USB drive is available on Windows. I assume that UPnP is the simples way to do the streaming, but I don’t know too much about it. I enabled the UPnP server/service in the GUI. This seems to simply be to allow UPnP traffic on the network though, is that right? I assume that you need a media server running on the GL-MT300A to stream media from it. Looking at available packages, I found uShare, which seems to be what I want, so I installed it. I’m stuck now though.
There does not seem to be a gui (default or LuCI) for uShare. What is the easiest way to set this up? Easiest way to get command line access?
Thanks for your help.
