After several frustrating hours of experimentation, I am convinced that the GL-MT300N-V2 (Mango) cannot connect to WPA Personal (WPA1) WiFi networks.

WiFi to connect to set to “WPA Personal” (FAILS):

Sat Aug 22 21:02:20 2020 user.info : [ 617] gl-sdk>> bIsSaved=0, ssid=TestNetwork, encryption=psk, bssid=D1:B8:E7:5H:25:H9, wds=0, device=mt7628, identity=, channel=1
Sat Aug 22 21:02:21 2020 user.info : [ 2539] gl-wifi-core>> bIsStaEnabled=1
Sat Aug 22 21:02:46 2020 user.info : [ 623] gl-sdk>> wifi_join return=-5, channel=1

WiFi to connect to set to “WPA2 Personal” (SUCCEEDS):

Sat Aug 22 20:59:33 2020 user.info : [ 617] gl-sdk>> bIsSaved=0, ssid=TestNetwork, encryption=psk2, bssid=D1:B8:E7:5H:25:H9, wds=0, device=mt7628, identity=, channel=1
Sat Aug 22 20:59:34 2020 user.info : [ 2539] gl-wifi-core>> bIsStaEnabled=1
Sat Aug 22 20:59:39 2020 user.info : [ 623] gl-sdk>> wifi_join return=0, channel=1

I’m turning up a distinct lack of information on the topic.
I saw some mention that OpenWRT removed support for WEP but can’t see any references to WPA1.

I do not have the luxury of changing the settings on the Access Point I want the GL-MT300N-V2 to connect to or change it’s security mode.

Any ideas?
