GL-MT300N-V2 WiFi speeds in Extender mode

Hi,

I recently purchased a GL-MT300N-V2 as a WiFi bridge to connect a device without WiFi to my network.

So far I am very happy, I am using the Mango in Extender mode and all is well. The bandwidth could be a little better though. I read that disabling the WiFi AP could lead to better throughput (and I only need the LAN ports) so I tried that. Disabling the AP also disables the WiFi connection for the Extender though.

Do you have any advice? Is it possible to use the Mango in Extender mode without AP (and auto-reconnecting to the saved WiFi network)? Will this improve throughput?

If you have AP one and does not use that, speed should not be affected.

Can you disable AP first and then set up extender? If this is not successful then you can leave the AP on.
