GL-MT300N-V2 wrong password after image restore

I have setup quite a few GL-MT300N-V2 modems for people running nord accounts. I decided to create a backup image so it would save me the hassle of having to go through all the setup and settings everytime I had a new GL-MT300N-V2 to setup. Instead I could just restore my backup image. Once i restore the backup and try to access the router through 192.168.8.1 it asks for a password but the original password I set which should have been installed with backup image doesn’t work and neither does the password I set before the router backup was restored.

Problem with using config backup on other Router same model

I have several AR750S. This article and another helped me to create a workaround for the admin password not working, if the backup config is applied to another router of the same model. Create the backup of the source router. In the backup file, edit /etc/config/glconfig Find section: config service ‘general’ Under that section delete lines: option language ‘EN’ option password ‘blahblahblah’ Save the file and update the archive. Restore the backup config to the other routers. Connect to 192…
