GL-MT6000 /dev/mmcblk0p2 EEPROM Corruption, Wi-Fi Not Working – Factory Restore Request

I am experiencing a critical issue with my GL-MT6000 (AX6000 Wireless Router) after accidentally overwriting the internal EEPROM/factory partition. Could you please suggest a recovery method or provide a factory restore image for my device?

Problem:
While connected via SSH, I mistakenly ran this command:

text

echo "AU" | dd of=/dev/mmcblk0p2 bs=1

Afterwards, all Wi-Fi radios stopped working. In OpenWrt, I get “eeprom load fail” and “probe failed with error -12”.
Restoring official or beta GL.iNet firmware via U-Boot or the web interface did not resolve the issue; only GL.iNet firmware temporarily restores Wi-Fi using fallback, but OpenWrt 24 does not work.

What I’ve Tried:

  • Firmware upgrade through U-Boot and web interface

  • Tried to backup/restore /dev/mmcblk0p2, but no good backup exists

  • Contacted GL.iNet support via email, but only received generic suggestions to re-install firmware

Request:

  • Is it possible to provide a matching factory image or EEPROM/calibration file for GL-MT6000 (AX6000)?

  • Alternatively, please share an official factory restore procedure (U-Boot or Linux dd method)

  • Ready to provide logs or more information if needed

Thank you

Please PM me your router MAC address which in device sticker.

Already know about your router's MAC address.

Please share your router with us through GoodCloud, and I will remotely restore this partition of your router.

For protecting customer privacy, I will delete your above comment.

I’ve sent you a message via PM

Please check it again.

The EEPROM has been restored, but it seems that the wireless configuration file has error.

The same file has been copied from another device.

Now your router WiFi looks like already restored.

Thank you
Will the WiFi function work normally after resetting the device to factory settings or performing a firmware reset?

I'm not quite sure; it seems like the wireless configuration also might be lost.

So does that mean it cannot be fully restored?

I just tried a factory reset, and some of the wireless settings came back. But it seems the guest password part is a bit broken.

Please share your router with us through GoodCloud again, and I will remotely check.

I have shared my router with GoodCloud again.
