[GL-MT6000 / Flint 2] "UPDATE FAILED" in U-Boot Web UI after factory reset — suspected GPT corruption

Hello,

I recently attempted to flash official OpenWrt firmware (community factory image, mediatek/filogic, glinet_gl-mt6000) onto my GL-MT6000 (Flint 2). After the flash, the device began exhibiting intermittent network interface flapping (periodic loss of connectivity via LAN, though ICMP/ping remained partially responsive). Following the documented factory-reset procedure (holding the reset button for 10 seconds after full boot), the device now boots directly into the U-Boot Web Recovery UI.

However, every attempt to upload firmware through this Web UI — including both official GL.iNet firmware and vanilla OpenWrt images — fails immediately with:

UPDATE FAILED
Something went wrong during update. Probably you have chosen wrong file. Please try again or contact the author of this modification. You can also get more information during update in U-Boot console.

I found two threads on this forum describing the identical symptom, both diagnosed as GPT (partition table) corruption:

In both cases, GL.iNet support provided a low-level eMMC partition recovery file via private message, which resolved the issue.

I do not have practical UART/serial access to this unit, so a Web-UI-compatible recovery file (as provided in the threads above) would be my strongly preferred path.

Could you please provide the same recovery file for my device? I'm happy to share my router's MAC address via private message.

Verify you were on the correct page to flash the correct image. One URL is for uboot updates, one is for firmware updates. I would type them here, but would have to search as I cannot remember off the top of my head.

Thanks for the reply! To help narrow it down: I accessed the Web UI at http://192.168.1.1/ and uploaded the community OpenWrt factory image (openwrt-25.12.5-mediatek-filogic-glinet_gl-mt6000-squashfs-factory.bin, sha256: d0c997128c3c775be10311f80b4c20c9f85bbc8c2ebb2601f5957b7290b71412). The upload itself completed successfully (size and MD5 shown correctly), but "Update" failed immediately with the same error.

I couldn't find any indication of a separate URL/page in this Web UI — is there perhaps a different path specifically for U-Boot/bootloader images versus the main firmware? Happy to try whatever you can point me to.
