GL-MV1000 upgrade OpenWRT

Hi,
the OpenWRT on the latest GL-MV1000 is too old.
Is it possible to upgrade the OpenWRT (containing newer, required drivers) without breaking the GL-software running ontop of OpenWRT?

ty,
Oliver

You could upgrade from GL.iNet download center

No, doesn’t help because the last beta is still based on the old openwrt 19.07.8 that doesn’t contain the required mt76x2u driver.

kmod-mt76x2u
Version:
see kernel for details
Description:
MediaTek MT76x2U wireless driver\ \
Installed size:
7kB
Dependencies:
kernel, kmod-mac80211, kmod-mt76x2-common, kmod-mt76x02-usb
OpenWrt release:OpenWrt-21.02.0
You could install drivers by yourself

So just install vanilla? Index of /releases/21.02.1/targets/mvebu/cortexa53/ (openwrt.org)

Just be aware that OpenWrt 21.02 comes with initial support for DSA, which replaces the swconfig system that OpenWrt was using up until now. This includes BRUME.
