GL-RM10 - microphone issues

I just purchased the new GL-RM10. It works perfectly, except the microphone.

Tested it connected to 2 Windows computers:

  • First one gets microphone audio only in mobile-version of glkvm.com (not from mobile app or another computer app or website),
  • Second only in PC-version of glkvm.com (not from mobile app or mobile-version of glkvm.com nor another computer app)

Of course I allowed mic usage in browsers, tried reboots, and updated to latest firmware V1.7.0 release2

Any thoughts ?

Finally the microphone works in the desktop version of glkvm.com. So the mic issue is only concerning the apps - Android & Windows

Hi, which version of the desktop app are you using? And are you accessing it on Windows or macOS?

Android Web currently has some compatibility issue, but the microphone feature has already been added to our Android app roadmap

I'm using the latest Windows 1.3 app. I'm under windows 11 on both host and viewer.

When you use a Windows application, did you confirm that microphone permissions were granted?

You can troubleshoot by following these steps:

1.Check if there are volume fluctuations when speaking through the microphone on the main control unit. If so, proceed to the next step.


2.Confirm that the correct microphone was selected when granting microphone permissions. Please don't forget unmute first.


3.Access the sound settings on the controlled device and confirm that the virtual microphone on the controlled device is producing sound.


4.Turn on the microphone on the controlled device and speak to it to check for any sound fluctuations.

I also have issue with microphone.
When i connect using Windows app there is 20% chance that the microphone will work properly. Most of time microphone is detected, but not working.

Microphone is working fine on my client laptop (31% volume and i replay test sample):

Was it tested under a local network or in a real remote environment?

Is there any poor Wi-Fi connection in your test environment?Something like limited bandwidth

My local setup is Comet connected to Slate AX which works as repeater and Sptiz as 5G modem.

Ping on my network is 6ms max.

Ok, I think I got it. I have noticed when I toggle Audio and Mic buttons just after streaming starts, Windows on Clinent computer does not detect that GLKVM app is using microphone.

After 30-60s after streamining is established when I play again with Audio and Mic button toggles, then the Windows on client laptop start to detect that GLKVM app is using mic and then mic streaming starts to work.

Looks, like when I toggle audio/mic immediately after streaming starts, Windows doesn't detect mic usage because the browser hasn't fully acquired the media device yet - it's still in the permission/initialization phase.

It is recommended to use glkvm.com or a local IP, and using browsers like Chrome or Edge will provide a better experience.

However dedicated app should be the most reliable way for streaming :sweat_smile:

I have a RM1 but i’m struggling with the same Problems. Sometimes it works..but mostly i have no connection with my Mic. No Input on my Windows Client over KVM. I cant use the App because i’am on Linux.
