GL-S200 thread commissioning

Hi @t1nux
You can log in to the S200 background to use the command ot-ctl state to see if the Thread network is working fine, and then use theot-ctl router table; ot-ctl child table to confirm whether your Thread device is online.

Hi there, I am also having difficulty adding a shelly smart plug s3 to the thread network (using the S200 interface). I generated the ipv6 address from the mac address of the smart plug and as credentials I used the 11 digit code under the qr code. Is this related to this thread. What are the steps to do to solve it?

@lancer Sorry for the long silence. I did a lot of testing, and it seems that things are quite stable now on the current beta firmware. I realized that also one of the devices I was using caused issues. However this was not the case with the previous S200 firmware, where I had to use the stateful trick. This does not necessarily mean that there is another issue now, as there seems to be an issue with the device. It's an Onvis Smart Plug S4 on firmware 1.1.0-315. However, there is a critical update to 1.1.11, which currently can only be applied with iOS (which I don't have) [link]. I was in contact with their support, and it seems soon they will enable firmware flashing via matter. I will test again once I have the new firmware.
Long story short, I was running a long term test without the Onvis device and wanted to get back to you after, but I think things are also running fine in the current state. Therefore, I think the changes you made in the beta firmware can be pushed to stable.
That being said, once at stable version with the changes is released, I will do another round of testing, and then we can probably call this issue solved :-).

@Gijs As far as I know, you cannot commission matter-over-thread devices through the thread interface on the S200. This should be done via eg. home assistant or similar.

Dear t1nux,

Why is that the case? The existence of the interface suggest that you can. I am dealing with a critical situation where I do not want an outside connection, just a local network that stores the data. Preferably independent from HA or alike.
