GL-SFT1200 wifi client to iphone hotspot

Hi,

I’m trying to get a GL-SFT1200 to connect to a iphone 12 hotspot.
No matter what i try (with or without usb cable), the connection never seems to comes up.

When connecting the USB cable, trusting the device and pressing “connect” on the gl-inet page i see this output in dmesg:
[ 732.007779] set port:1 pvid:1
[ 732.010823] set port:2 pvid:1
[ 732.014852] add port:1 for vlan:1 tagged:0
[ 732.019493] add port:2 for vlan:1 tagged:0
[ 732.024254] add port:5 for vlan:1 tagged:1
[ 732.028593] set port:0 pvid:2
[ 732.032576] add port:0 for vlan:2 tagged:0
[ 732.037210] add port:5 for vlan:2 tagged:1
[ 732.041569] set port:5 pvid:2

When i scan for a ssid to join and enter the details i see:

Using the wifi ssid method i am able to join hotel-wifi, so the gl-inet seems fine.
Has anyone got tethering with an iphone working?

Unfortunately the documentation is not really helpful when debugging:

Thanks,
Zyx

So both repeater and USB tethering does not work?

This is rather strange because usually repeater works OK.

For iphone’s hotspot, do you have “Maximise compatibility” ticked?

For USB tethering, pls try a different cable. Also try reboot the iphone.

Thanks for the quick response.
I’ve tested with multiple (original) apple cables.
And i’ve tested with “Maximize compatibility” enabled and disabled.
Just tried rebooting the phone and the gl-inet.

Result is always the same, the connection does not come up.

Thanks,
Zyx

But does repeater work?

Hi,
No unfortunately it does not work.
