Gl-tor or tor?

What is difference from gl-tor package and tor package? Specifically these are some questions I have

  • is the button control on router because of gl-tor package?

  • is version for Tor same for both gl-tor and also tor (at time of package firmwares)?

  • is possible to use HiddenService in torrc on gl-tor?

gl-tor is just api package to control the Tor process and configuration. Without it Tor still works if you start it manually. But gl-tor is in charge of communicate with the UI and set up the firewall etc.

Okay thank you. When you choose gl-tor package version, how are you deciding this? How old version of Tor are you using usually please?

Do new versions of 3.1xxxx in future have new Tor softwares inside gl-tor?

You could check by yourself about the Tor version.

I am not sure how but it should be simple. Maybe tor —version?

I do not think there is a way to check on command line what is inside your brain. My question is “When you choose gl-tor package version, how are you deciding this? How old version of Tor are you using usually please?”
