GL-X3000 - SIM card not registered

I have a new GL-X3000 router.

I’ve tried SIM cards from US Mobile on their Dark Star network (ATT) (APN: ereseller) and their Warp network (Verizon) (APN: vzwinternet)

I’m not able to get a data connection.

I tried factoy reset. I tried uploading other modem firmware from gl-inet’s website. None of this has helped.

US Mobile is sending me a Light Speed sim (T-Mobile)

I don’t really want this though, ATT has much better service in our area.

What else can I try?

Gerald

Hi

Could you please help confirm the following:

  1. Are you using the original power adapter?
  2. Please make sure all cellular antennas are properly connected.
  3. Verify that the APN configuration matches your SIM card.
If the SIM works correctly on your phone, you may refer to the APN settings used there.

The US Mobile Light Speed sim works fine in my X3000 so if you have problems it may be something router related and not sim/carrier related. My X3000 is running the 4.7.4 firmware and the current recommended modem firmware from GL-iNet.

We you able to get the Dark Star sim working in a phone?

Yes, using original power adapter.

Yes, using all cellular antennas.

Working in phone: Today, I put the sim in a phone - it worked, and the APN autodetected was nxtgenphone (I believe this is an ATT APN). The phone did work using this APN.

I added an APN on the phone “ereseller” as required by US Mobile and switched to “ereseller”. The phone also worked with this APN.

I then took the sim and put it back in the GL-X3000. It connected right away and appears to be working fine using the “ereseller” APN - which refused to work yesterday.

Can anyone explain this?

And now: I’ve twice had the router stop providing internet access, although it shows to be connected and fine. The first time, a restart brought it back online. The second time, the interface says “The interface is connected, but the internet can’t be accessed”.

Do we have an IMEI block going on here?

Edit: US Mobile says the IMEI is not blacklisted. But nothing else is making sense. Unless there’s some modem incompatibility. Open to any further help…

This may be because the SIM card needs to be activated on the phone first.

Please try updating the X3000 to firmware version 4.8.3.
It includes an automatic reconnection mechanism after cellular network update status.
