GL-X3000 SIM card switch needs a reboot to properly work

Hey, I just tried the new 4.3.3 beta - 2023-06-14 and the issue seems resolved! No problem switching to SIM 2. I’ll test for a day or two and I’ll let you know!

Why the modem sort reboot is removed from the beta ? Can you please clarify?

The ‘soft reboot’ here just lets the module driver reload, has no practical meaning.So it is removed.

Everything seemed to work fine with the latest firmware, however sometimes I have a complete disconnection for an hour or so when my IP is supposed to change so the cellular connection is still not completely stable…

This issue may or may not be related to the thread but here goes. When switching from sim 1 (Visible/Verizon) to sim 2 (Tello/T-Mobile) and then back to sim 1 the web GUI showed the green dot for the connection but I had no data. I confirmed correct settings for the Visible sim. Switching to sim 2 and data is working. Switching back to sim 1 and no data. I issued a reboot via the web GUI and still no data. I then issued a reboot via Luci and sim 1 started working. Coincidence or does the Luci reboot do something different?

Will neither TMO nor VERIZON be able to access the Internet when the sim card is switched?

TMO works fine when switching back and forth. It’s the VZW sim that required the reboot. If I remember correctly, the VZW sim didn’t require the reboot on 4.3.1.

Edit: I just did some more testing. Switching back to sim1 failed to connect on the first attempt but has worked on the 2nd and 3rd try. Perhaps not an issue with the device as previously thought.

Hi lizh,
I am still testing but since this happpens on IP change (every 24 hour) the process requires some time.
I tried without VPN but the issue is still there. The only other function I am using is Override DNS Settings for All Clients.
It may sound strange, but it seems to me that this is happening 24 hours after a scheduled reboot (and not after a manual reboot).
I am countinuing testing and I will let you know.

Hi lizh, the problem is still there unfortunately.
What I found: it is happening only on SIM1 (where my IP change every 24hours), no problems in SIM2 (where my IP change every 4 hours).
Two days ago I rebooted the modem at 3:00am. After 24 hours (when my IP was supposed to change) I had another disconnection for 1 hour:
