GL-x3000 Three Sim Issues

Hi there,

I’m new to all of this, but any support would be appreciated. I’ve got a UK Three SIM that I’ve started using with my GL-x3000, and unfortunately, it will not register to 5G towers or bands, no matter what I do. I’ve tried changing the APN, using Band Masking, Locking towers, and I’ve even bought a waveform antenna to help with the signal, but for whatever reason, I’m stuck on LTE bands running sub-7 Mbps. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as I feel like I’ve wasted my money.

Have you tried the sim in a phone to check you get 5G with that?

Yes, I’ve tried using both a three-SIM and an EE SIM in both the router and my phone with mixed results. The signal on my phone is poor, so I bought an external antenna in anticipation, as without it, my connection, regardless of the SIM I use, is rubbish.

Hi @Mr_Resist0r here are some tips you can give it a try:

  1. Please move the router position, or move the external antenna position to see if you can receive a stronger signal and get a better connection
  2. If your device is connected via Wi-Fi, try using an Ethernet cable to see if the speed improves. If the slow internet only happens on Wi-Fi, adjust the router’s wireless settings, like changing the Wi-Fi channel or bandwidth.
  3. Modify the cellular TTL to 65

BTW, I wonder if you can see 5G tower available for Three and EE network on the router?
