GL-XE3000 port wan does not work in LAN mode

Latest firmware openwrt-xe3000-4.8.0-0628-1751051076
Firmware reset done

I noticed screenshots "WAN-LAN download 10Mbit", and there seems to be an issue with the DL speed.

Please let me know the following information that I would like to try to reproduce it in my router to check:

  1. What is the mode of 2.5G port (originally as WAN)?

  2. What is the mode of 1G port (originally as LAN)?

  3. What is your network topology of test? Is the iperf3 server running on the router or on the test PC?

iperf3.10 server on the router.It's already installed. ssh command: iperf3 -s -D

I turn on the server from my phone and log out.

PC command: iperf3.exe -c 192.168.8.1 -p 5201 -t100 (upload)
iperf3.exe -c 192.168.8.1 -R -t100 (download)

I didn't do anything with the lan port, but I switched the wan port to lan mode.
Both ports are in LAN mode and both show speed 1000 always. BUT WAN DOES NOT WORK NORMALLY IN LAN MODE.
When I started testing the wan port in wan mode, all the LEDs on the router went out and the firmware crashed.

I started with the phone))

The actual speed of the wan 2.5 port in lan mode)))
With such speed it is not always possible to access the router's web interface...
2.5 gigabit...Very bad)))

I have just installed the firmware 0704release5.Completely reset all settings.
Nothing has changed.Wan-LAN port speed 1 Mbit)))Constant packet loss...
Unable to access the router's web interface...
Where is 2.5 Gbit???????????????????????????????

Configuration in which the router is fully operational))))
Without a fan, port 2.5 fails after 500 seconds with a maximum load of 900 megabits)))

530 seconds without fan blowing
The port overheats instantly.

One hour of operation with a fan. Port 2.5 operates at a load of 900 megabits on average. WORKS

Port 2.5 under a load of 900 megabits, constantly blown by a fan, worked for 2 hours without errors.

Without powerful blowing, port 2.5 can work for 620 seconds. The processor temperature is 51 degrees)))
0.00-620.01 sec 63.9 GBytes 885 Mbits/sec
In 620 seconds from the start of the router, you can download 64 gigabytes via one port 2.5 and it will drop. 64 gigabytes and goodbye port 2.5)))
the maximum processor temperature is 51 degrees
Port 2.5 stops working at 51 degrees and starts working at 45-47 degrees. And without blowing, the processor temperature is 70 degrees, it's terrible... Bad fan settings 70-90 degrees - terrible. You need to reduce the hardware temperature by 30 degrees, otherwise it doesn't work

Port 2.5 drops, without load at a processor temperature of 51 degrees

In the morning the processor temperature was 70 degrees.I turned on the fan to blow air on the router. It cooled the router in 10 minutes. Port 2.5 started working as the processor temperature dropped to 45-46 degrees.))) For the router to work properly, the temperature inside needs to be reduced from 70 degrees to 45 degrees, and the firmware has nothing to do with it. Forgive me, programmers)) Your latest firmware works fine up to 51 degrees inside)))

Dear GLI team programmers, I demand that you))) change the temperature mode of the router 70-90 degrees inside - this is fatal for the router. Maximum 50 inside and the router works fine. And thank you for the firmware, it is fully functional, you just need to cool the device below 50 degrees and everything works well....

Does anyone know where port 2.5 is on the board?
It needs to be cooled to 46-47 degrees to work...

Hello,

Please contact our support team [email protected], and cite this thread, I think the CPU temperature 51 °C is supposed to be running without any problem for all hardware of router, we have massive tests about the temperature pressure in the lab.

Port 2.5 critical temperature 48 degrees. Port failure in 9245 seconds 2,6 hours of load. I moved the fan closer and the test continued)))

Hello,

We did not reproduce this issue, this laptop connected the 2.5G port of XE3000, the 2.5G port is LAN mode, iperf3 -s in XE3000, iperf3.exe -c (DL&UL) in laptop.

I think that XE3000 2.5G port probably occurs hardware issue, please contact us [email protected] to get the replacement, and try to test again.

I conducted a 4-hour test under a 900 megabit load and it ended successfully. There was one failure at 48 degrees processor temperature. This is when I moved the fan further. At a processor temperature of 42-47 degrees, the router works without problems. Port failure occurs from 48-50 degrees.
14400sec=4 hours 1.43 TBytes 875 Mbits/sec )))
There is a fan inside the router, but it spins at 70 degrees or more, and I need 45 maximum...
