GL0MT300N-V2 Faulty Unit?

I just bought a new unit and I am using it as a repeater for my home network Wi-fi (TP-Link router).

The GL unit seems to work fine for about 5-10 minutes and then the WiFi keeps disconnecting and reconnecting between the GL unit and the TP Link wifi connection on the GL Admin Panel. I am pinging and when this happens it shows most requests timing out with the occasional one getting through.

This is without using VPN and I am also using a external 2A PSU on the unit so it is not a power issue (Also tried a 1A PSU and Laptop USB for power).

As a last resort I upgraded the firmware to 3.026 but exactly the same thing is happening. Works fine for the first 5-10 mins and then keeps dropping and reconnecting to the wi-fi in the GL Admin Panel and pinging to google times out with occasional reply getting through.

I did buy it to use as a travel repeater with VPN when I go away, but I can’t even get it to work as a repeater at home.

Could I possibly have a faulty unit and are there known issues with these?

Is it possible to provide logread logs for my analysis?
