GLMT2500 - how do I use it just as a VPN gateway?

Very confused with the available docs with this device, I have an existing pfSense router and I don't need a second router. I thought it would let me setup the VPN server (Wireguard + OVPN) and just port forward from my router and I am done, unfortunately setup doesn't seem that way, kindly need guidance.

If MT2500 is set as OpenVPN/WireGuard server below the main router, the configuration is roughly:

  1. Enable OpenVPN or WireGuard server and remember the port number.

  2. MT2500's WAN is connected to the Primary router.

  3. Open the Port Forwarding for the VPN server in the Primary router.

  4. On external network, use your PC or phone to verify that it can connect to the VPN server.

Thank you, what IP address do I assign it as? Will it be a separate network? Do I turn on drop-in mode?
