Yes, I’ve tried several safety settings under chrome but every time when I want to save a backup of my configuration under Luci, it blocks the download.

I have to accept to download it but often, I forget to do so and I do not have a recent backup.

I should ask Chrome of course but their answers are so obvious.

There for, I’m asking it here.

Is their a setting so Google Chrome always download my backup? Without confirming it?

Thank you very much.

Greetings Tom

Hi,

Perhaps you could try accessing the Admin Panel/LuCI via HTTPS. In my environment, Chrome stopped blocking the download after I switched to HTTPS.

Please note that LuCI uses port 8433 for HTTPS; simply changing “http” to “https” in the URL will not redirect you automatically.

Hi, indeed, using https ignores the blocking of a suspicious file.

Thank you for the suggestion.

But, why is the download so slow compared with http?

HTTPS adds TLS encryption and certificate negotiation, but on an MT-6000 the overhead for a small backup should normally be minor. Chrome’s displayed transfer rate can also be misleading for such a small file because backup generation, TLS setup, and download security checks make up most of the elapsed time.

If the difference is substantial, open Chrome Developer Tools → **Network** , repeat the backup, and compare **Waiting for server response (TTFB)** with **Content Download**. A long TTFB points to backup generation/router-side processing; a long Content Download suggests the HTTPS/browser path. Please share those timings, the backup size, and the router firmware version if you would like this investigated further.
