Hide Traffic from OpenDNS Filter

Hi all, I’m setting up my new Slate Plus router and have already integrated my NordVPN account to protect my browsing privacy. One of my devices has an internet filter enforced by OpenDNS on it that I’m surprised can still see my internet traffic.

Maybe I have a poor understanding of how internet traffic/privacy work, but is there a setting that can help keep my internet traffic private from any applications/OpenDNS/etc.?

How do you check the internet traffic leak?
SLate plus router only handles DNS traffic at local LAN port 53, if you use encryption DNS on endpoint device, it will not go through SLate’s service.

OpenDNS traffic from the device that uses OpenDNS also goes through NordVPN, so filtering is still active.
