Hotspot/Tethering Cap Workaround on T-Mobile -- What Works?

Hello, can anyone sum up what currently works (or doesn't) for working around T-Mobile hotspot or tethering limitations? I've just about tried them all (EasyTether, PairVPN, APN mod, etc) and I always eventually get a text that I am out of data or it will be throttled. I have the MT-3000 and GL-AXT1800.

Also, how can we check hotspot/tethering data usage in real-time?

Based on some information, this restriction cannot seem to be passed-by.

As ISP have higher-level traffic recognition, no matter any plugins installed or configuration on the router, it is considered the "hotspot/tethering" traffic.
