How to access devices on the same LAN

I have the GL-MT300N-V2 mango mini travel router, but I really only need it as a local LAN point so my phone and PC can communicate on the same network (my dorm has client isolation)

Is there any way I can create a LAN so my phone and PC and other devices can communicate with each other? Or do I need to purchase a different device to get this functionality?

Oh silly me, my VPN blocks LAN traffic by default on new networks…

yes, but you could create a firewall rule in Lucie, to prevent that
