How to change GL-X300B IMEI

Hi,

I found some documentation on how to change other GL.iNET routers IMEI but nothing about the GL-X300B router.

Does anyone know if we can change GL-X300B IMEI ?

Do you know where I can find the related documentation ?

Hi,

Please note that the IMEI is used by the mobile network to identify the cellular device. Changing it may affect network registration, carrier device authorization, SIM/device binding, and cellular service availability.

  1. Check and save the original IMEI
    Please record the returned 15-digit IMEI before making any changes.
    INTERNET → Cellular → Three-dot menu → Modem AT Command → Manual Command

    Run the following command:
AT+CGSN
  1. Change and save the target IMEI
    Run the following command, replacing the number inside the quotation marks with the required 15-digit IMEI:
AT+EGMR=1,7,"123456789012345"

Then run the following command to save the modem parameters:

AT+QPRTPARA=1

I applied the solution today to use the GL-X300BRC4 as a replacement for my Mango V2 and Pocket WIFI tuple and it worked. I now have a 4G backup internet connection without needing to keep the battery powered Pocket WIFI (from Free operator) in my very hot garage during the summer.

I only had to change the IMEI to match the Pocket WIFI IMEI and set the APN to mifi (as explained in another post).
