How to compile software

Hi,

I have an AR300M on which I would like to install software for which I cannot find a package (taskserver).

Could anybody please give me some tips on how to compile it myself as I have never before compiled software for openwrt?

What I want to do is set up a cross-compilation enviroment on my debian-system and build a package there, then install it on the router.

Do I need the image-builder for that (as I said I do not want to build the whole system, just one software-package) and if so which one?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

What is the link of the project?

Need to check if it can be ported to openwrt. If it relies on UI then it may be not able to compile for openwrt.

No no it does not have any ui, it just a server for syncing taskwarrior.

<span style=“line-height: inherit;”>The funny thing is that taskwarrior (which is not that useful on a router) is available for openwrt while taskserver (which would be quite handy) is not. </span>

Hi alzhao…

Do you think you could add some hints?

Many thanks!
