How to Mount a Garmin MTP device for File Sharing on Gl.inet router

Hi Community! I have a Garmin Fenix 6x which does not have “mass storage mode”. Instead, when I plug in the USB, it goes into MTP mode. I’d like to be able to browse the files on the device, and I had this configured previously on my GL-AR300M… but I was forced to reset the router and cannot remember how I set it up to work. Right now, when I SSH into the router and use the “lsusb” command, I can see the device, but if I go into the “file sharing” plug in, I cannot see the device. The device is detected, but not mounted as a drive. On my raspberry pi, I was able to use gvfs to map to the /run/user/1000/gvfs directory, but I cannot install gvfs on the GL-AR300M. There is probably a better way to do this; does anyone have an idea? Thanks!!

Do you remember a bit, about what packages are installed to make it work?

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately I do not. I did spend a couple days searching the web before posting here, and the search results seemed familiar, but I couldn’t get it going. I wish that I had recorded how it was done! If I figure it out again, I’ll post here
