I have SIMPoYo eSIM card but don’t have a compatible router to load profiles onto it. The docs only mention EIOTCLUB when using USB eSIM reader but is it really compatible with SIMPoYo cards before I order the EIOTCLUB USB reader? Can someone confirm?
Hi,
If you have an Android phone, you can refer to the following guide to load the configuration profile:
A USB card reader that supports eUICC should theoretically work as expected, but we have not actually tested the one your metioned, so we cannot confirm it for certain.
I have got the reader now and tried it and it works. But the problem is the profile reverts back to “Webbing” when I put it in my mobile router so fails to connect. The only way to stop this is to delete the default Webbing profile. Now it works fine with my new eSIM. Not sure why it fails to stick whether it’s a bug with the SIM card or reader.
After downloading the eSIM profile, you also need to enable that profile using the USB card reader.
Only after doing so can the profile be used when the card is moved to another device; otherwise, the default Webbing profile will remain active.
In any case, we're glad to hear that the USB card reader is working properly and that everything is now functioning as expected.
That’s exactly what I did but the enabled profile reverted back to Webbing as soon as I put it in my mobile WiFi router.
