LAN Speed of GL-X3000 only 100M

Hi,

since a few day i’m the owner of a GL-X3000 and everything looks good so far.
Only issue: the LAN and WAN network speed is only 100M (connected to a TLSG1024DE).
Even when configuring 1000M manually (standard “auto”) it switches back to 100M.

Datasheet says X3000 has a 10/100/1000 port - so it shoud work with 1000M or have i missed something?

Cable has also been replace…same effect.

Some tips/hints would be great

thanks in advance and best regards

additional info: also when connecting a Workstation, speed is only 100M - so its seems to be definitely a problem of the router.

Hi,

When you connect the X3000 to the TL-SG1024DE and directly to the Workstation, could you please check NETWORK → Ethernet Port and let us know what speed is shown under Negotiated Network Port Rate in each case?

Also, does the same 100 Mbps negotiation occur on both physical Ethernet ports — the default WAN port, and the LAN port when it is switched to WAN mode?

If convenient, could you please SSH into the X3000 and share the complete output of the following commands:

ethtool eth0
ethtool eth1

Please also let us know the complete firmware version currently installed on the X3000.

Thank you for your support and understanding.

WAN

Negotiated speed is alway only 100Mbps

LAN

Hello Charles,
thanks for your answer.
Firmware is the latest (stable) available:

same result with ethtool (WAN as WAN and LAN as LAN):

seems to be definitely a problem on the router, cause:
when connecting the router to the TL-SG1024DE speed is only 100Mbps.
when connecting the workstation (notebook) to the router (LAN and also WAN port) speed is also only 100Mbps.
But, when connecting the same workstation with the same cable to the TL-SG1024DE (same port the router was connected before) its 1000Mbps

…and, sorry had to split my answer, as i wasn't allowed to put more than one screenshot i a post....

Hi,

Thanks for the detailed test results.

From the screenshots and ethtool output, we can confirm that both Ethernet interfaces are currently establishing the link at only 100 Mbps full duplex.

As a final check, could you please make sure the Ethernet connector is inserted into the port and try reconnecting it a few times?
Please also take a look inside both Ethernet ports and check whether there are any visibly bent, recessed, dirty, or damaged contacts. If possible, you may also try a few different Ethernet cables once more.

If the issue still persists after checking the Ethernet ports and connections, it may indicate a hardware issue with the Ethernet ports on the X3000.

If your device is still under warranty, please contact our customer service team at cs@gl-inet.com and provide your purchase channel and order number. They will assist you with the after-sales process.

Hello Charles,
the cables are clipped in correctly and as the X3000 is brandnew the ports are clean and free of any “handicap”.

I’ve done some addition tests with 2 brandnew CAT8 cables (two different manufacturers) - same effect.

Thanks for your help and i’ll contact the service team now.
