Luci install fails on fresh firmware flash (no config kept) GL-BE3600.

I just performed a fresh firmware install (without keeping the previous configuration) to fix an issue where the admin password would break after a device restart. That issue is now resolved, but I’m no longer able to install LuCI. I was able to install it before the firmware re-flash.

I’m getting the “check your network connection” error, but the router clearly has internet access — I’m writing this while connected to it. From SSH, both ping and DNS resolution work as expected.

When I try to install the LuCI plugin from the UI, I get multiple dependency errors.

Is there a log I can check to better understand the failure? Or is there a recommended way to install LuCI via SSH?

Thanks in advance.

Hi

Before installing LuCI, did you install any LuCI-related plugins via Admin Panel → Applications → Plug-ins, or by using opkg over SSH?

If so, this may cause the issue. Please try resetting the device to factory settings again, install LuCI first, and then install any additional plugins afterward.

We plan to fix this issue in the next firmware release.
