Thank you for sharing this suggestion. We understand that being able to create additional SSIDs directly from the GL.iNet GUI would make this type of setup more convenient.
How, the supported VAP capabilities and implementation can vary between different router models and wireless platforms, so this type of feature needs to take these platform differences and compatibility into consideration.

In my case, let’s just say my request is driven by an unusual situation. Some old devices than can only do 2.4GH and WPA-PSK without special characters in passwords would need to have their own dedicated SSID.
I only own Flint 2 and Flint 3.

In that case, why not just use the 2.4 GHz network for those devices and let all others continue to use 5 GHz?

Because not all modern devices use 5GHz.

4.9.x firmware should introduce an IoT network for this case.
Maybe you can give it a try?
