Should we be concerned with the MediaTek processors and the reports that malware is part of the MediaTek chipset platform?
Since most of the reports are coming from Android handsets using MediaTek processors i would say no. GL-iNet uses OpenWRT/Lede which is completely opensource. The actual processor itself would not have such malware, so it’s a non issue here.
GL-iNet even provides you with a way to compile your own firmware for the devices, on top of that.
