Before I go too far, has anyone used a GL router for a usb tv tuner?
Never seen it before.
just wonder to learn about what it can do for the router after connecting the USB of the router? Or can the router get the TV signal, and then? ![]()
I was looking at ways yesterday. Seems there is a Tvheadend in Openwrt so maybe I will play with new router before I put it in service.
My usb is a Hauppauge atsc and they do have some linux and Pi documentation. They claim there might be support in kernel already.
The little router is unlikely to be the best choice for a media server but I might as well try. ![]()
Basically the router is a small computer. Pi and other small computers have been used as a media server. My attempt was more. Is it possible and to see how good it may work?.
Just for reference, I updated to open wrt latest and kind of like it. It has an available newer TV head end.
I'm working at getting the driver for the TV tuner USB.
I think I have to backtrack the Linux kernel driver code to see if I can find where they added it to mainstream.
I have to admit tvh is quite snappy currently in this little router. I imagine using it for m3u file would be just fine.
Getting the driver for this device is difficult even with help from Hauppauge.
