MT300A SDcard and firmware 2.7

As I’ve previously posted the SD-card does not show up with this firmware - an external USB memory stick does though.

Will there be a fix soon as it rather defeats the point of the MT300A without access to the SD -card,

Perhaps it could be checked to be working before you release v3 of the firmware (which hopefully includes a GUI for Wireguard in addition to OpenVPN !).

I actually don’t know the reason why SD doesn’t show up in the firmware. I tried it works in my side. So cannot easily fix.

I’ll try loading 2.7 again and see if it works. Does the SD-card format ie NTFS/ext3 matter ?

NTFS, EXT should all be supported.

We are trying to use firmware 3.0 on our routers. But we will first use in our new models. Old models will upgrade later.

I updated the MT300A to 2.7 again and the SD-card was dtill not found. A USB stick was however.

I dismantled the unit and with power applied removed and re-inserted the SD-Card.

Now both the SD-Card and USB stick are detected and readable. This is still the case after powering the device off and on again.

So 2.7 does work as long as you remove and re-insert the SD-Card with power on after updating the firmware !

Bit weird but at least it is working now !

You can in two ways.

First way: ssh to the router and use logread and dmesg to get the log.

Second way: go to the UI, advanced settings (luci) and status, then you will find system log and kernel log

@pseudonoise you are not the only one. I didn’t do much diagnosis, but when I upgraded my mt300a to 2.27 a few months back, I also lost access to the sdcard. I was only using it to store configuration settings/scripts between firmware loads, so I copied the files from my PC instead.

The SD slot is hiding inside. It’s necessary to pry open the bottom and remove the outer case to access it.

@pseudonoise It only recurrent first boot after upgradeing. For my testing, it will mount sd-card automatically if it power on again. We will release v3 firmware for mt300a/mt300n, and fix fail to mount when first boot.
